KINGSMOOR ANGLERS LTD
Background and History of the club
We started back in approximately 1957 when a small club was founded at Slough to provide fishing recreation facilities to the estate workers. Thus the club was called 'Slough Estates Fishing Club'.
One of the original founders of this club was Mr William Dick' (Bill) who eventually became the Chairman and oversaw the clubs activities for many years until he passed away.
Bill steered the club through many changes the most major being the takeover of the 'Kingsmead' club in 1968. At this time, the Moor Lane water was purchased and to reflect these changes, the new name of 'Kingsmoor' was created.
The club was then changed in status to that of a private limited company by guarantee {a non-profit making private limited company}, thus today the club is still officially listed as Kingsmoor Anglers Ltd. Part of the reason for this move was to provide protection to the clubs 'purchased assets'
Over the years, Kingsmoor grew to become quite a large club of nearly 700 members and had access to a number of large lakes to support these anglers.
Nowadays, Kingsmoor has again reduced in size and we operate to a maximum of 200 members. We now have 4 x key waters where our anglers tend to specialise in Carp fishing, however, Bream and Tench are available depending on the water fished!
We operate a strong policy re the environment and expect our waters to be kept clean and we are affiliated to the ACA (Anglers Conservation Association).
The club is managed by an elected council with up to two appointed Directors. Besides the day to day running of the club, the council ensure that all legal submissions of accounts and activites, are made to Companies House as required by the rules of being a 'limited company'.
The committee meet regularly for this purpose and also hosts an Annual General Meeting each year at about April time.
